Archive Editions

Archive Editions is a series of limited edition, small batch productions designed to explore the way we sustainably innovate whilst holding true to our DNA as the World’s Oldest Country Shoe maker.

As a shoemaker of nearly 200 years, we’ve amassed an incredible archive; storerooms filled with beautiful leathers and a wealth of inspiration. The Archive Editions Project allows our craftspeople to bring these hidden treasures to life, creating limited-edition releases that celebrate both our heritage and a more considered approach to shoemaking.

SHOE KNOWLEDGE

Tramping Shoe

The Tramping Shoe & Boot is a part of Tricker’s Heritage; made traditionally for pursuits in the British countryside. It’s based on a boot design from 1926.
Made with double vamp and counters, whole cut, perfectly smooth with a seamless inside. The upper is stitched in 80’s thread and a 12’s needle for a more refined finish.

The English aristocracy and titled landowners bought Tricker's typically for weekend use. Tricker's were the first choice for the country where they kept your feet dry whilst hunting, walking (called Tramping) and working in the land.

LAST NO: 4497s

This last has been used for decades. It is part of our history and character as England's oldest shoe manufacturer. The size (length fitting) of Tricker’s footwear made on this last (4497s) is true to size, we recommend sticking to your regular UK size. If you are unsure of your UK size, use our size guide to convert your known size to a UK size.

The last is a hard, three-dimensional form on which the shoe is constructed. Depending on the style of shoe we use different lasts, this is what dictates the overall shape, proportion, fit and character of the shoe.
