Information on how Tricker's are sized
A "last" is a hard (typically wood, as shown above), three-dimensional form around which your hand-made Tricker’s shoe or boot is constructed. At Tricker's, we use different lasts depending on the style of shoe we are creating. The last dictates the shape, proportion, fit and character of the shoe or boot. Tricker's lasts have been in existence for decades, and their sizes can therefore be non-standard - this is part of our history and character as England's oldest shoe maker. Here, we're going to help you to determine the correct Tricker's Size for you according to the last or style of your selected shoe or boot, and the size of your foot.

Tricker's women’s shoes and boots are true to standard UK women’s sizing. The size conversion chart below will help you to select your Tricker's Size for all Tricker’s Women’s Shoes and Boots. All sizes you select on this website will be Tricker's Sizes - not UK, US or any other sizes. Tricker's Sizes are shown with the shaded background below. Select your Tricker's Size according to your foot length or your known shoe size in your country or region.
Some examples:
- You know you are UK women’s size 5. Read up from UK size 5 in the conversion chart. Row 1 is your Tricker’s Size, so your Tricker’s Size for that order is 5.
- You know you are US women’s size 6. Read up from US size 6 in the conversion chart. Row 1 is your Tricker’s Size, so your Tricker’s Size for that order is 4½.
- You are not sure of your sizing. You measure the length of your bare feet and the longer one is 234 mm. This lies between 233 and 237 in the Foot Length (mm) row of the conversion chart. Round your foot length up to the next highest measurement, 237, and read up from 237 in the conversion chart. Row 1 is your Tricker’s size, so your Tricker’s size is 5½.
Width Fitting
Most Tricker's women’s shoes and boots are a Tricker's Width Fit 4, as shown in the above conversion chart.
Width Fit 4 is suitable for standard width women’s feet. In the UK it is known as a C fitting; in the USA it is known as a B fitting; in other parts of the world, it is known as an M (medium) or A (average) fitting.
If your foot is a standard width, a Tricker’s Fit 4 will be suitable. Our fit is very forgiving and, in a short space of time, your new Tricker’s shoe or boot moulds to your individual foot shape.
Some of our styles are a Tricker's Width Fit 5. These shoes are suitable for wider women's feet. In the UK this wider fit is known as a D fitting; in the USA it is known as an C fitting; in other parts of the world, it is known as a W (wide) fitting. If a shoe or boot is a Tricker’s Width Fit 5 it will be labelled as such in the product details.
