The first shoe released in our ConsTruct range, this Daniel is only available from trickers.com. Daniel is the name given to our original Tramping Shoe, a style that was traditionally made for expeditions and pursuits. This classic four-eyelet Derby shoe is minimalist in design and differs from more urban styles (such as Robert) due to its more robust, rugged and heavyweight appearance.

The ConsTruct version of the Daniel comes in Black, Natural or Nut Brown Horween Derby leather, Goodyear welted with a Barbour welt for a lighter look, on a Commando sole for an American twist on an English classic country shoe.

SHOE KNOWLEDGE

Tramping Shoe

The Tramping Shoe & Boot is a part of Tricker’s Heritage; made traditionally for pursuits in the British countryside. It’s based on a boot design from 1926.
Made with double vamp and counters, whole cut, perfectly smooth with a seamless inside. The upper is stitched in 80’s thread and a 12’s needle for a more refined finish.

The English aristocracy and titled landowners bought Tricker's typically for weekend use. Tricker's were the first choice for the country where they kept your feet dry whilst hunting, walking (called Tramping) and working in the land.

LAST NO: 4497s

This last has been used for decades. It is part of our history and character as England's oldest shoe manufacturer. The size (length fitting) of Tricker’s footwear made on this last (4497s) is true to size, we recommend sticking to your regular UK size. If you are unsure of your UK size, use our size guide to convert your known size to a UK size.

The last is a hard, three-dimensional form on which the shoe is constructed. Depending on the style of shoe we use different lasts, this is what dictates the overall shape, proportion, fit and character of the shoe.

Horween

The Horween Tannery in Chicago, USA was founded in 1905 and is the oldest tannery in the United States.  Horween leathers employ traditional tannages and techniques, carefully updated with modern applications. Their leathers are still made by hand, as they always have been.

Horween Derby is a vegetable-tanned full-grain leather that is heavily stuffed with waxes and fats and is tumbled to add suppleness and texture.  This leather has a semi-smooth, low gloss finish with occasional wrinkles on some parts of the hide. It ages beautifully over time.
