Trickers are very pleased to launch our new “capsule” collection available to purchase on www.trickers.com
ConsTruct is inspired by our Heritage; and traditionally made for outdoor use and pursuits in the British countryside
Made in England, all our boots and shoes are made by hand in our Northampton factory by skilled craftspeople who carefully construct each pair over 260 individual stages.
On the drawing Board our Allan Toe Cap Boot
The development of Goodyear welting largely evolved shoe and boot making from an artisanal act into an industrial one. This made it possible to sew the boots upper with the insole, without having to attach the undersole with the same stitching
Goodyear Welting at Tricker’s
Trickers continue to construct our footwear in this time honoured way. We control the build and quality, and this also means employing a local skilled workforce.
The area is globally recognised as the centre of shoemaking, and it was way back in 1401 a Northampton shoemaking guild was set up in which controlled the way the work was performed to ensure good quality.
The first record listing the export of shoes from Northampton is in 1378 when some were sent to Flanders and by 1525, shoemaking was a significant part of the makeup of the town.
The year was 1829 when Joseph Barltrop founded the company Tricker’s.
To set the scene from an historical perspective, that same year saw Robert Peel establish London's first uniformed police force, whilst in America, Abraham Lincoln gave his first political speech
Tricker's makes a great variety of footwear. Our shoes and boots for the country and outdoor pursuits have always been a large part of our production. We are renowned for our heavy brogue shoes and boots, and these have been adapted for both country walking and town use and have been extensively used for outdoor pursuits.
Constructed with Horween Derby leather uppers, the Allan Toe Cap Boot. boot features a tonal toe cap design, waxed laces and a contrasting Tricker’s blue woven heel pull.
It’s built on our regular-fitting Stow 4497 last, with a Commando Sole
This boot is hand lasted to ensure the leather is pulled down to the true shape of the last which is retained for the boot’s whole, long-life span
Available in Horween Derby leather in the colours Black, Natural and Nut Brown
Derby Leather comes from the Horween Tannery in Chicago, IL USA. Horween was founded over 113 years ago and is the oldest tannery in the United States
Derby leather has a semi-smooth, low gloss finish with occasional wrinkles on some parts of the hide. Derby is a vegetable tanned full grain leather that is heavily stuffed with waxes and fats. The hide is tumbled to add suppleness and texture
The Commando is our classic Tramping/Work boot rubber outsole. Known for its thick sturdy tread, the commando sole offers great traction and weather resistance, and has a strong chunky profile. They provide excellent durability and grip across all terrain - particularly in the countryside.
Born out of tragedy, Italian inventor Mr. Vitale Bramante created the sole after six of his friends died in a climbing accident in 1935. He thought their deaths might have been avoided had they been equipped with better footwear.
The rubber medallion centre stars provide not only cushioning, but also traction while the outer lugs are designed to provide stability and off-set the toe and heel pads. This helps to improve shock absorption when worn for extended periods.
In 1940, the British military authorised Commando soles for use in the British Army, and in the 1950s Commando soles were used by explorers across the North and South poles, the Antarctic and climbing Mount Everest
With a tonal stitch, brass eyelets, Tricker’s blue loops and a natural edge finish, and a spare brown/yellow lace included, these boots not just built for the job, but also eye catching in their appeal.
Daniel is the name given to our original ‘Tramping Shoe,’ a style which was traditionally made for expeditions and pursuits. This classic 4 eyelet derby shoe is minimalist in its design but different from similar styles such as Robert due to its more robust appearance.

Logger boots are used to work through brush, muck, and other types of undergrowth, and to aid in any climbing needed. Logger boots are designed to be worn by workers in the logger industry, hence the name.
Logger boots are a popular choice for farmers and where you are subjected to consistent wet and uneven terrain. Logger boots are a way to take on the mud and muck that can be common in livestock pens, and in open fields and farmland.
Our Logger boots use our famous Goodyear Welt construction, which is the most durable way to build a boot. A natural Barbour Welt is used to stitch the midsole, the boot upper, the insole, and the outsole together, making this boot durable and moisture resistant. All Heavy-duty boots need to be built in this way.
Available in Horween Chamois leather in the colours Navy, Fudge and Black
Chamois is the original oiled nubuck and a Horween classic. The velvety snuffed grain of the Suede base is generously nourished with a rich blend of natural oils to create a rich, oily feel and a natural look.
The heavily oiled finish creates a protective barrier against the elements. It's an extremely low maintenance leather that requires very little aftercare and is typically comfortable straight from the box.
The Black Ridgeway sole is a hard-wearing rubber sole characterised by protruding lugs and large ridge channels that offer great traction and stability. Ridgeway soles are more lightweight than commando soles but are thicker than Dainite boot soles and have a slightly raised profile.
It is an excellent all-purpose sole and performs well in nearly every condition.
With a tonal stitch, brass eyelets, leather built in pull tab and a natural edge finish, and a spare brown/yellow lace included, these boots not just built for the job, but also eye catching in their appeal.
