SHOE KNOWLEDGE

Chukka Boot

The Chukka boot’s origins are relatively obscure – originally known as ‘vellies’ ( Veldskoene or colloquially vellies), a South African walking shoe, they were first made by 17th-century Dutch settlers.

Last No: 2161

This last (2161) has a slim profile making it elegant and sleek looking. This last fits true to size, we recommend sticking to your regular than a regular UK. If you are unsure of your UK size, use our size guide to convert your known size to a UK size.

The last is a hard, three-dimensional form on which the shoe is constructed. Depending on the style of shoe we use different lasts, this is what dictates the overall shape, proportion, fit and character of the shoe.

Muflone

Muflone is a deeply grained, yearling leather that is softened in wet drums, and then tumbled in dry drums which give it its softness and texture.

We advise using a Neutral polish to help maintain these boots.
