Introducing Archive Editions: Highly Sustainable, Highly Limited.

As a shoemaker of nearly 200 years, Tricker’s have amassed an incredible archive. Our factory in Northampton is home to storerooms filled with beautiful leathers from past collections, each with its own character and story to tell. The Archive Editions project is our way of bringing these treasures back to life, with a focus on sustainability.

By using leathers and materials already within our archive, we’re able to create something new without adding to waste. It’s a more considered approach to shoemaking, and one that celebrates both our craft and our responsibility to the world around us.

For us, sustainability isn’t just about sourcing new eco-friendly methods of shoemaking, like our Olivvia Leather range, it’s also about making the most of what we already have. “Over the years, we’ve accumulated some really exceptional leathers,” says Tricker’s Managing Director Martin Mason. “Some were produced in limited runs, some were set aside for special projects, and some have just been tucked away, waiting for the right moment. Archive Editions gives us a way to use these materials in a way that absolutely makes sense for us, our customers, and for the planet.”

Each edition will be different; some will revive classic styles, others will reinterpret them, but every pair will be made with the same dedication to shoemaking that has defined us for nearly two centuries.

Like all our footwear, Archive Editions are made to last. These aren’t mass-produced collections, but small-batch productions, each one unique and never to be repeated in exactly the same way. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

That rarity makes them special, but so does the ethos behind them. “It’s about respecting our materials and our heritage,” Martin adds. “We believe true sustainability is about making products that last. With Archive Editions, we’re taking that a step further, making use of what we already have to create something really quite special.”

The first release from Archive Editions is available now, with more to follow throughout the year.
