The Tramping Shoe

The Tramping Shoe & Boot is a part of Tricker’s Heritage; made traditionally for pursuits in the British countryside. It’s based on a boot design from 1926.
Made with double vamp and counters, whole cut, perfectly smooth with a seamless inside. The upper is stitched in 80’s thread and a 12’s needle for a more refined finish.

The English aristocracy and titled landowners bought Tricker's typically for weekend use. Tricker's were the first choice for the country where they kept your feet dry whilst hunting, walking (called Tramping) and working in the land.

LAST NO: 4497s

This last has been used for decades. It is part of our history and character as England's oldest shoe manufacturer. The size (length fitting) of Tricker’s footwear made on this last (4497s) is true to size, we recommend sticking to your regular UK size. If you are unsure of your UK size, use our size guide to convert your known size to a UK size.

Hydro Nubuck

We have chosen a new leather called hydro nubuck which is tanned using a special weatherproof treatment, this means you can really get caught out in the April showers and your feet will remain dry.

The blend of the stylish Whisky finish and rugged functionality encapsulates the individuality of the Tricker’s wearer.

This high-quality European side leather has a water-resistant tannage. Oil impregnated this offers a high level of weather resistance without compromising on the beautifully soft nature of the skin

Like most water repellent leathers they are not designed for walking through water however in rain they should cope very well.

We advise letting these shoes dry naturally and then brush off any loose dirt with soft suede brush.

The shoes are flawless. Very

"The shoes are flawless. Very well built, you see and feel the quality. I know I should have checked better before ordering, but came as a surprise that I had to pay 25% extra in the form of VAT when they arrived in Norway. Made them even more expensive and I'm in doubt if I would order again. Checked a little afterwards, and Tricker's is not part of some agreement that other shoemakers are part of, like in example Lennartsen. Probably due to GB not being part of the EU. Very good shoes though, maybe still worth the price. Happy they where the exact fit, the return process seemed complicated and with a cost."

Super comfortable shoe. . . . . . .

"One of the best looking shoes without a doubt."

Ideal derbies for autumn & winter

"I go a half-size down from my usual fit with Trickers as the leather usually gives a bit. These derbies are amazing; robust classic design given a modern twist with the vertical stitch at the front. Surprisingly lightweight but don't let that deceive you as to the quality – these are a premium pair of shoes! (These were my fifth pair of Trickers and I fully expect each of them to last many years)."

Watch Out!

"Great quality shoes as normal. First time I have bought direct from Trickers on line. The photographs online line show the shoes to be a reddish/chestnut colour. I was however disappointed that they turned out to be basically brown although marketing had given the colour a fancy name of espresso which told me nothing. Espresso brown would have been more helpful. As I said great quality just watch out for unhelpful photos not presenting an accurate reflection of the shoes true colour. Amen."

Delighted with shoes and Tricker's service

"The apron and split toe seaming gives the Kilsby a distinctive Continental style which drew me to it. Although surprisingly light, it is solidly constructed and exemplifies Tricker's craftmanship. Customer service was helpful at all stages of the purchase. Would recommend."

"Great quality."

Is there a sixth star available?

"I have five pair of Trickers and each of them is beautifully made, fits perfectly, and is of clearly exceptional quality. The experience has impacted my ability to buy lesser shoes, and I am here looking for more."
