The Kilsby Derby Shoe brings the substance of Tricker’s country footwear to a versatile Derby shoe. Made on our 4497s last, traditionally used for our country boots, it has a generous toe box, stable feel underfoot and a strong, high-walled profile. The hand-stitched apron and heavy-set derby quarters give the shoe its distinctive Kilsby shape.

This version comes in Brown Pampus, a supple calf leather with a smooth grain, soft handle and rich espresso tone. The dark brown finish gives the shoe an easy versatility, sitting naturally with denim, corduroy, heavier cottons and relaxed tailoring. Comfortable from early wear, Pampus leather will soften and develop more depth with regular polishing and care.

Each pair of Kilsby shoes is handmade in our Northampton factory in England by skilled craftspeople using traditional methods, and to the same exacting standards that first established our reputation. Goodyear welted construction gives the shoe durability and the option to be resoled in years to come, while the Vibram Vi-Lite sole gives the stance of a more substantial treaded sole with added shock absorption and a lighter feel underfoot.

Shoe Knowledge

Kilsby Derby Shoe - Visone Waxy Suede - R E Tricker Ltd

The Derby Shoe

A derby shoe is characterised by open lacing, which means that the eyelets for the shoelaces are sewn on top of the vamp (the upper part of the boot). This type of lacing allows the boot to be adjusted for a comfortable fit and makes it easier to put on and take off than a boot with closed lacing, such as an Oxford.

LAST NO: 4497s

This last has been used for decades. It is part of our history and character as England's oldest shoe manufacturer. The size (length fitting) of Tricker’s footwear made on this last (4497s) is true to size, we recommend sticking to your regular UK size. If you are unsure of your UK size, use our size guide to convert your known size to a UK size.

Heinen Pampus

Newly introduced for our exclusive ConsTruct range. A heavily weatherproofed upper which should hold up in the harshest of weather conditions. Made in Germany fom the Heinen Tannery (since 1891) the leather is hydrophobic which can meet all the technical requirements placed on the various types of shoes & boots.
