The Monk Shoe

The earliest versions of the monk strap shoe featured a simple strap that was fastened with a buckle. The single monk strap shoe was the most common style during this time, with a single strap crossing over the instep and fastening on the side. It provided a secure fit and allowed for easy adjustment.

Today, the monk strap shoe is highly regarded for its timeless elegance, versatility, and unique charm. It is a popular choice among professionals, fashion enthusiasts, and those who appreciate classic and refined footwear which is why it has been a staple in our collection over the years.

LAST NO: 4537

This last has been developed for our City collection and features are squarer toe shape with a slim profile. The size (length fitting) of Tricker’s footwear made on this last (11659) is true to size, we recommend sticking to your regular UK Size. If you are unsure of your UK size, use our size guide to convert your known size to a UK size.

Calf Leather

Calf leather is finer grained, and lighter in weight than the hide of older cattle. This means that it is also more supple. It is also very durable in comparison to its thickness.
