The Kilsby Derby Shoe has a strong, high-walled profile, with a stitched apron design and heavy-set derby quarters giving it real presence. Made on our 4497s last, more commonly associated with our country boots, it offers a generous fit through the toe box and a stable feel underfoot. It is a shoe with enough substance to sit naturally with heavier denim, corduroy and seasonal casual tailoring.
This version comes in Charcoal Coarse Suede, a rich brown suede with a rugged, highly textured nap. The coarse finish gives the shoe a more lived-in character than a finer suede, while the charcoal tone offers a sharp alternative to black or brown. Pliable from the first wear and fully lined in leather, it balances the weight and character of a country shoe with a softer, more comfortable feel.
Handmade in our Northampton factory in England, each pair of Kilsby shoes is made by skilled craftspeople using traditional methods and finished to the standards that first established the Tricker’s reputation. Built using Goodyear welted construction for durability and the option to be resoled in years to come, it is finished on a Vibram Vi-Lite sole, an expanded rubber sole that gives the shoe the look and stance of a heavier treaded sole, with added shock absorption and a noticeably lighter feel underfoot.
