Fantastic shoes
"Bought these in Trickers sale and a few other items. Absolutely delighted with the Bourton Cubana Castorno’s fantastic look and fit great. Normal size UK 11 but went UK 10. 5 and perfect all round. Will be back!!"
The Bourton is our definitive heavy country shoe, instantly recognisable by its wingtip design and substantial profile. Built on the 4444 last, it offers a generous, roomy fit that has been a staple of the Tricker's collection for decades. In this Champagne Waxy Commander finish, the shoe moves away from the polished city aesthetic and into a world of pure, functional endurance.
Waxy Commander: Tanned by C.F. Stead in Leeds, Waxy Commander is a "shrunk" suede that is saturated with waxes during the tanning process.
Champagne Colourway: A pale, earthy sand tone that highlights the rugged, uneven texture of the leather.
Natural Water Resistance: The deep wax impregnation ensures the leather is naturally water-repellent, making it the ideal choice for wet British winters.
Tough Character: This leather is designed to be lived in; it does not require precious handling and only looks better as it gains character marks.
Technical Build: Barbour Welt & Vi-Lite This edition of the Bourton features a specific combination of premium components to ensure it remains lightweight despite its rugged appearance.
Barbour Welt: This shoe is constructed with a Barbour welt, a specialised storm welt that provides an even more robust and decorative watertight seal between the upper and the sole.
Vibram Vi-Lite Sole: To maintain a featherweight feel, the shoe is fitted with a Vibram Vi-Lite sole. This expanded rubber compound offers the commanding look of a heavy tread with exceptional shock absorption and significantly reduced weight.
Full Leather Lining: The interior is fully lined with soft natural leather for breathability and comfort.
Cleaning: Use a stiff brush to remove dried mud and dust.
Restoration: If the leather looks dry, apply a specialised wax-based conditioner to restore water-repellency.
Drying: Always allow the shoes to dry naturally at room temperature.
Embrace the Scuffs: Small scratches can often be rubbed out with a warm thumb to redistribute the internal waxes.

These are a generous fit and therefore typically larger by half a size. If you normally take a UK size 8, we recommend you try a size 7½.

"Everything about this pair is fantastic: the build quality, design, color, soles…. These shoes are built like tanks. They were very stiff and took a while to break in but they are starting to become very comfortable - well worth the effort, and they’ll probably outlast me. They run quite large but the size guide is very accurate. I am a size 11 in most US shoes and I wear a 10 in these."
"Another pair of trickers purchased, Bourton are my personal favourite, the Nastor Brown are especially handsome,The Bourton is such a versatile shoe, it's robust and refined can be dressed up or worn with jeans and a rugby shirt, ready to wear straight out the box and extremely comfortable, I'd recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a very high quality all-rounder that will last them a lifetime."
"These are my third pair of Bourtons been wearing them since the late 90's. Might be deemed in some quarters as unstylish - but not to my eyes. Great build quality by British crafts people in a British factory and these days that is something to value. Trickers are a cut above the other Northamptonshire shoe companies and a notch below going the full custom eg John Lobb. What appears 'expensive' is I think good value for money because I'll get at least ten years minimum from these shoes. Also a good online service - package sent very promptly and securely. Recommended."
"I love my Bourtons. This is my sixth pair. They fit my feet so well. From the time I first put them on, they are as comfortable as slippers. Some of my older pairs have Dainite soles which are very durable. These new Vibram soles are fantastic - they make a great shoe even better. I wish Trickers made more Bourtons with the Vibrams. The Vibrams are lighter and make the shoes even more comfortable, particularly for a long day of walking. When you buy them (which I strongly recommend!), remember that the last on the Bourtons means that you need to go down half a size (I’m normally a 9 but I take an 8. 5 in Bourtons)."
"Like all Bourtons, it's a sturdy well made shoe, despite being a 'rough out' the leather isn't as thick as you would find in an American heritage brand but that's not an issue really, just a heads up. No spare laced though which is a pity."
"My first pair of trickers, and now definitely won’t be my last. Very comfortable straight out the box and no wearing in needed."
"I have many Bourton shoes in various colors. But it’s great to have a pair with the Vi-Lite sole. They are so practical and comfortable for the days I have to walk long distances in a city but still need to look sharp and dressed."
"I own several pairs of Tricker’s, and the Bourton continues to be one of my favorite. The Cubana Castorino suede gives it a slightly different look without changing what makes the Bourton great. Another excellent pair from Tricker’s."
"It is so good to find a truly wide fitting shoe which is perfect for my feet. The leather quality is excellent as is the substantial feel of the shoe."
