Stow is Tricker’s most iconic men’s boot. Made originally as a country boot, but now worn by men all around the world across fields and cities. The Stow Derby ankle boot is instantly recognisable for its brogue patterning synonymous to Tricker’s; however its strong, solid build and seven eyelets make it as recognisable, whilst by no means flashy. A half bellows tongue is folded and attached to the boot to provide a watertight seal, with the storm welt providing an additional watertight seal between the shoe's upper and sole. Of course, featuring leather linings.

Shoe Knowledge

Archive Editions

Archive Editions is a series of limited edition, small batch productions designed to explore the way we sustainably innovate whilst holding true to our DNA as the World’s Oldest Country Shoe maker.

As a shoemaker of nearly 200 years, we’ve amassed an incredible archive; storerooms filled with beautiful leathers and a wealth of inspiration. The Archive Editions Project allows our craftspeople to bring these hidden treasures to life, creating limited-edition releases that celebrate both our heritage and a more considered approach to shoemaking.

The Country Boot

Our original country boot was created back in 1840. It set the standard for craftsmanship, style and reliability to which we aspire to this day.

During World War II, Tricker's country boots were worn by British soldiers who appreciated their durability and ruggedness on the battlefield.

Today, Tricker's country boots remain popular among outdoor enthusiasts, equestrians, and fashion enthusiasts alike. Perfect for tramping the British countryside, trekking the forests of America or walking the streets of Tokyo.

LAST NO: 4497s

This last has been used for decades. It is part of our history and character as England's oldest shoe manufacturer. The size (length fitting) of Tricker’s footwear made on this last (4497s) is true to size, we recommend sticking to your regular UK size. If you are unsure of your UK size, use our size guide to convert your known size to a UK size.

C.F. Stead Pull-Up Full Grain

This edition features five colours: Winter Smoke, Blue, Green, Ginger and Tan.

We're introducing a new, high-quality leather for this addition, pull-up full-grain leather. This beautiful pull up full-grain cow leather has an incredible depth of colour, produced by the wax layer. This gives the leather a natural antique distressed look, with an aniline top finish. The leather is a flesh out product, which has been finished on the flesh side which shows all the natural characteristics and features.

Full-grain pull-up leather has a soft, supple feel and a shiny high-quality finish. It has a unique natural appearance which lightens in colour when stretched during wear to produce a unique worn-in effect with time. Due to this soft and scratch-sensitive finish, the leather quickly gets a beautiful vintage-patina.

Pull-Up leather requires little maintenance since the original ruggedness only amplifies. Surface scratches are more pronounced but can be removed by rubbing them with your fingertips. The warmth of your hand releases the natural oils, blending away the marks. It is, however, important to look after your Tricker’s footwear and for this edition and leather, we recommend using a Neutral wax polish.

"Really well made shoes, beautiful leather. These boots are going to take some breaking in but you can tell they will last a lifetime, suitable for rebuilding in about 10 years time! The customer service people were great, they tracked down a pair in a wide fitting in my size that wasn’t available elsewhere."

Was worried about breaking in

"These are amazing. Straight out the box they looked great quality. I was worried about wearing them and breaking them in. But my worries were unfounded. Day 1 wore them all day and the were so comfortable and this will only get better. The softness and thickness of the leather feel superior to any other boot I own. Very happy"
