The 7047 is a robust toecap Derby shoe, featuring the extensive brogue detailing that defines our country collection. Built on the iconic 4444 last, it offers the legendary roomy fit that provides all-day comfort for wider foot profiles. In this Chestnut colourway, the shoe takes on a more traditional, historic feel, perfectly suited for pairing with tweed, corduroy, or light-wash denim.

Bonaudo Leather: Luminous Depth Sourced from the prestigious Bonaudo tannery, this leather is prized for its ability to showcase complex tonal variations.

  • Warm Chestnut Palette: A rich, honeyed tan that catches the light to reveal natural grain patterns.

  • Exceptional Patina Potential: Bonaudo leather is world-renowned for how it ages; with regular care, this Chestnut finish will deepen and gain character, becoming uniquely yours over years of wear.

  • Artisan Broguing: The high-contrast nature of the Chestnut leather makes the intricate punched detailing on the toecap and quarters particularly prominent.

Technical Protection & Build The 7047 is engineered as a technical "Country Shoe," designed to keep the foot dry and protected regardless of the terrain.

  • Full Bellows Tongue: A full bellows tongue is integrated into the upper, creating a continuous leather barrier that prevents water, mud, and grit from entering the shoe.

  • Storm Welted Integrity: The robust Goodyear storm welt provides an additional watertight seal at the critical junction between the upper and the sole unit.

  • Dainite Traction: Grounded by a Dainite rubber sole, the shoe provides dependable grip on slick surfaces while maintaining a refined, low-profile silhouette.

SHOE KNOWLEDGE

Brogues

Look in the dictionary and you'll read that brogues are defined as 'a strong outdoor shoe with ornamental perforated patterns in the leather' - A Bourton is the finest example of this that you will find.

The perforations synonymous with brogues were originally a functional characteristic positioned to allow water to drain from the shoes but also to allow for ventilation.

LAST NO: 4444

These are a generous fit and therefore typically larger by half a size. If you normally take a UK size 8, we recommend you try a size 7½.

The last is a hard, three-dimensional form on which the shoe is constructed. Depending on the style of shoe we use different lasts, this is what dictates the overall shape, proportion, fit and character of the shoe.

Calf Leather

Calf leather is finer grained, and lighter in weight than the hide of older cattle. This means that it is also more supple. It is also very durable in comparison to its thickness.
