The 7047 is a robust, toecap Derby shoe that carries the intricate brogue detailing synonymous with authentic English country footwear. Built on the legendary 4444 last, it offers a generous, comfortable fit with the distinctive "roomy" character that has made this last a favourite for generations. This is a shoe designed for those who require the elegance of a Derby but the resilient build of a work boot.

Bonaudo Leather: Italian Sophistication For this edition, we have utilised premium leather from the renowned Bonaudo tannery in Italy.

  • Rich Dark Brown Lustre: The Bonaudo leather features a deep, chocolate-brown finish with a subtle natural sheen that develops a unique character and patina over time.

  • Exceptional Pliability: Despite its heavy-duty appearance, Bonaudo leather is prized for its supple handle, ensuring the shoe breaks in beautifully while maintaining its architectural shape.

  • Heritage Detailing: The precision broguing along the toecap and quarters highlights the artisan craftsmanship inherent in every pair.

Engineered for the Elements The 7047 is technically superior, designed to provide a "watertight" experience in the most testing British conditions.

  • The Full Bellows Tongue: A full bellows tongue is expertly folded and attached to the upper, creating a complete functional seal that prevents water and debris from entering through the lace eyelets.

  • Storm Welt Foundation: A robust storm welt provides an additional watertight barrier between the leather upper and the sole unit.

  • Dainite Rubber Sole: Finished with a classic Dainite sole, this shoe offers exceptional traction on wet surfaces without sacrificing the sleek profile of a formal shoe.

SHOE KNOWLEDGE

Brogues

Look in the dictionary and you'll read that brogues are defined as 'a strong outdoor shoe with ornamental perforated patterns in the leather' - A Bourton is the finest example of this that you will find.

The perforations synonymous with brogues were originally a functional characteristic positioned to allow water to drain from the shoes but also to allow for ventilation.

LAST NO: 4444

These are a generous fit and therefore typically larger by half a size. If you normally take a UK size 8, we recommend you try a size 7½.

The last is a hard, three-dimensional form on which the shoe is constructed. Depending on the style of shoe we use different lasts, this is what dictates the overall shape, proportion, fit and character of the shoe.

Calf Leather

Calf leather is finer grained, and lighter in weight than the hide of older cattle. This means that it is also more supple. It is also very durable in comparison to its thickness.
