SHOE KNOWLEDGE

Country Boot

Our original country boot was created back in 1840. It set the standard for craftsmanship, style and reliability to which we aspire to this day.

During World War II, Tricker's country boots were worn by British soldiers who appreciated their durability and ruggedness on the battlefield.

Today, Tricker's country boots remain popular among outdoor enthusiasts, equestrians, and fashion enthusiasts alike. Perfect for tramping the British countryside, trekking the forests of America or walking the streets of Tokyo.

LAST No: 4497s

This last has been used for decades. It is part of our history and character as England's oldest shoe manufacturer. The size (length fitting) of Tricker’s footwear made on this last (4497s) is true to size, we recommend sticking to your regular than a regular UK. If you are unsure of your UK size, use our size guide to convert your known size to a UK size.

The last is a hard, three-dimensional form on which the shoe is constructed. Depending on the style of shoe we use different lasts, this is what dictates the overall shape, proportion, fit and character of the shoe.

Kudu Leather

Kudu leather is known for its durability and strength, as well as its unique texture and grain pattern. Due to Kudu's grazing habits, mainly amongst thorn trees, Kudu hide becomes scratched and scarred. These marks give the leather an inimitable character, making each pair of shoes and boots unique. People extol Kudu for their meat as well as their horns and cull them regularly for export, as well as local consumption, to the benefit of local communities. This leather is a by-product of local food industries and we only purchase it in limited amounts.

We recommend using Neutral Shoe Polish and Neutral Shoe Cream to maintain Kudu Leather.
